Eye

Comprehensive evaluation of the patient's visual Acuity (including
possible need for optical help e.g. glasses, contact lenses) and
assessment of medical health of the eye. Should be done every
one to two years.
Contact

correct refractive errors. Usually soft but can be hard.
Glaucoma:
Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) caused by excessive building
of aquaeous humor in the eye, causing damage to the optic nerve
(nerve of sight). Patients can lose vision slowly over the years
and not be aware of it. Treatable with drops or occasional laser
or surgery.
Lasers:
Laser is an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission
of radiation. Non-surgical, the use of powerful light to perform
a variety of ocular procedures. A specialty of ours at Acuity
Eye Care.
Cataracts:
A clouding of the eyes natural focusing lens, treated by surgical
removal of the lens and simultaneous implantation of a synthetic
intraocular lens (IOL).
Lens

The most popular synthetic replacements for the eyes natural lens
when a cataract has been removed. Available as single prescription
and multifocal (array).
Lasik:
The most popular form of laser vision correction in the United
states.
Laser
Vision Correction:
Involves the use of a special beam of light to reshape the surface
of the eye in order to correct refractive errors.
